Gravity Septic Design In Silverdale

Another gravity septic design? You betcha! This gravity septic design in Silverdale is another example of our goal at Apex – to get you the least expensive septic system that is allowed by code. We often hear from our customers that they think that gravity septic systems aren’t allowed anymore; well that’s just not true. If the soil is deep enough for a gravity system, then that’s just what we want to design for you!

Old Poured-in-Place Septic Tank

Poured-in-place septic tank

We don’t often run across an old poured-in-place septic tank like this. This tank was made in the late 1940s by building concrete forms in the ground and pouring the concrete right in place. The lid is sections of concrete slab butted together. Opening these types of tanks is always a little dicey, since it’s easy to drop a lid section into the tank. That’s always the start of a bad day! This tank was pumped and decommissioned as part of a repair septic design in University Place.

Septic Tank Installation

The boys at A-Bell Excavating are hard at work installing a septic tank and pump tank for a repair septic system in University Place. As we have mentioned before, details are important, and A-Bell pays attention to the details. Just because it gets buried, doesn’t mean that the work should be sloppy. We will always recommend top-shelf installers like A-Bell to install the systems we design. They stand behind their work, and so do we.

Perk Test

Performing a perk test (these days it’s known as a preliminary soil analysis) means getting down into the soil to see what’s going on. Since we don’t actually pour water in the holes and watch the perk rate anymore, getting down in the holes and inspecting the soil strata is necessary to see the soil looks like. Soil color is a big indicator of water levels, and we’re always trying to stay above the winter water table level.

Clean septic system installation work

Clean septic system installation work. This photo of a pressure distribution septic system’s header manifold is a great example of what clean, professional installation work looks like. This was installed by the guys over at Kat Trax, and we really like their work. Just because it gets buried, doesn’t mean that the work should be sloppy. Attention to detail matters, and we always recommend installers that pay attention to the little details as well as the big ones.

Apex tackles the big drainfields

Last summer Apex designed a 12 bedroom pressure distribution system for a client on Henderson Bay in Gig Harbor.  The system required 800 feet of drainfield trench.  The system installer, Josh Peterson of Kat Trax, Inc. is shown here going over the details of the new system with the property owner.

digging test holes for a new septic design

Bonney Lake Gravity Design.  We were out in Bonney Lake this past week getting started on a gravity septic design.  It was a cold and foggy day, but at least it wasn’t raining.  The lot is small, and doesn’t look like much now, but by the time it’s all done, you won’t even recognize it.  The new owner demolished the old mobile home that was on the lot and also hauled away the old cars and trash.  He’s building a new 3-bedroom home in its place, and getting a nice gravity flow septic system to help keep the building costs down.  Design by Larry.

University Place Gravity Flow Septic System

University Place Gravity Flow Septic System. The New Year has been keeping us busy so far!  This simple 3-bedroom serial distribution gravity system was just installed in University Place near Tacoma.  On small lots like this one, it is necessary to install the septic system before the house is built so that the installers can have easy access to the septic tank and drainfield area.  Septic design by Larry.

Lake Tapps Pressure Distribution Septic Design

We jumped right into things for the New Year and got a customer started on building his dream home on beautiful Lake Tapps with a pressure distribution septic design.  We’re excited for the Andersons, and the start of their building project! Design by Larry.
