Old Poured-in-Place Septic Tank

Poured-in-place septic tank

We don’t often run across an old poured-in-place septic tank like this. This tank was made in the late 1940s by building concrete forms in the ground and pouring the concrete right in place. The lid is sections of concrete slab butted together. Opening these types of tanks is always a little dicey, since it’s easy to drop a lid section into the tank. That’s always the start of a bad day! This tank was pumped and decommissioned as part of a repair septic design in University Place.

Difficult site? No problem. A panoramic view showing how the Hemley’s crew did a fantastic job of installing a 5-bedroom pressure bed system on a very small lot in University Place.  Designed by Larry at Apex Septic Design.
